Responsibilities:
The Food Service Worker will work under the direct supervision of the Food and Nutritional Services Director, Dietary Manager or Supervisor, the Food Service Worker provides meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis (including meal selection, service and retrieval).
Accurately serves food and beverage to patients in accordance with the patient's diet prescription.
The Food Service Worker will provide meal assistance to cafeteria patrons and adheres to all cash handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
The Food Service Worker will adhere to all HACCP food, health, and environmental safety regulations As a Food Service Worker, you will follow the principals and procedures of EFY patient dining services program The Food Service worker prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
As a Food Service Worker, you will prepare and delivers items as requested by patient care units or patients.
Maintains tray line in a clean, neat and organized manner.
Prepares special diet foods as necessary.
Delivers food carts to patient care units.
Returns carts to kitchen at designated times.
Loads and oversees dishwashers.
Washes specified items by hand, i.
e.
, pots, pans, knives.
Disposes of trash and garbage in appropriate manner and as needed.
Puts clean dishes and utensils away.
Mops floors as scheduled and as necessary.
Cleans walk-in refrigerators and storage areas.
Assists in preparing salads, desserts and nourishments.
Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Nutritional Services Director/ Supervisor.
Assists in putting deliveries away according to HACCP food, health, and environmental safety regulations Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
Always observes infection control practices.
Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers.

Experience:
Food service experience, preferred.
Skills:
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
Written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings is required.
Strong time-management and organizational skills are required.
Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.
Frequently lift objects weighing 35 pounds.
Works in hot and cold internal environments.
